Frico AB takes over Burda WTG export business from August 4, 2025

Frico AB, a member of the Systemair Group, has acquired 100% of the shares in the German company Burda Worldwide Technologies GmbH (Burda WTG), a leading manufacturer of innovative infrared heating systems. The partnership began in 2018 when Frico acquired a 49.9% stake in the company, with the remaining 50.1% acquired in 2021. Since then, Burda WTG has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Frico.

Founded in 1990, Burda WTG has developed a strong international position with patented infrared shortwave heating solutions and global sales in over 50 countries. The acquisition is a strategic step for Frico to strengthen and expand its radiant heating portfolio, particularly in the outdoor segment, where Burda’s product range complements Frico’s existing offering.

Since 2018, Frico AB and Burda WTG have worked side by side to build a strong and collaborative foundation. Over the past few years, we have aligned our strategies, exchanged expertise, and taken joint steps to expand our shared presence in the market.

We have actively communicated the acquisition and introduced the message ‘Burda – a part of Frico’ to reflect the new structure and long-term vision. Our collaboration has also been visible at several major trade fairs, where we have exhibited together under a shared identity — including ISH in Frankfurt (2023 and 2025) and R+T in Stuttgart (2024). These joint efforts have strengthened our brand visibility, deepened customer relationships, and reinforced our position as a leading provider of infrared heating solutions.

As of August 4th, we are entering a new phase in the integration of Burda WTG and Frico. A project to merge our product portfolios is already underway, with the goal of streamlining and strengthening our joint offering. From this date, all Burda products will be branded under the Frico name, while retaining their well-known Burda model names. The first product series to be introduced under this new branding will be Relax Glass and Term.

Frico AB will take over all Burda’s export operations and international customer accounts. Burda will merge by the end of the year with Frico Germany to Frico Burda GmbH and will continue to serve the German domestic market under the current and upcoming setup.
To support this transition, the new combined Frico and Burda line of infrared products will be stocked at Frico’s logistics hub in Sweden. As of August 4th, all orders for infrared products should be placed directly with Frico AB.

During the transition period, until August 3rd, we kindly ask you to continue selling the existing Burda range and to place your orders with Burda WTG as usual. If a Burda product is not available, you may be offered the corresponding Frico labeled product. If you need a Burda product to complete a customer order in one label, we will gladly check the availability.
